nRange

Nomad Marketing provided product management services for nRange. During Phase I, we developed a comprehensive Market Requirements Document.

Summary/Highlights

nRange is a pre-launch technology start-up. The company has licensed a wireless technology patent from a major healthcare research firm and is developing the technology for use in a fast-growing market segment.

nRange has hired a contract engineering firm to evaluate and develop the technology. With no on-staff marketing organization, nRange turned to Nomad Marketing for ongoing product management services. Nomad Marketing is driving the commercialization effort for nRange.

Driving technology commercialization

nRange has a solid technology foundation. As they pursue commercialization, they are faced with limited resources and no on-staff commercialization resources. These challenges lead them to request product management services from Nomad Marketing. nRange outlined 4 primary goals:

  • Drive commercialization through a focused, rigorous development process
  • Direct outside engineering resources
  • Support channel and consumer research
  • Support business model and intellectual property definition

A focused, structured process

Nomad Marketing is executing its 5-phase product development process for nRange. This process relies on clearly articulated milestones for progress. nRange is currently in Phase 1 of the process. These phases are:

Phase 1: Concepting and market validation
Phase 2: Development
Phase 3: Technical validation
Phase 4: Manufacturing
Phase 5: Launch and marketing

Phase 1 milestones

  • Use cases documented
  • Market Requirements Document completed
  • Channel partners and business model secured
